The First Baptist Church of Hudson is celebrating its Sunday School Rally Day on Sunday, September 14th, with the theme: “Get in the Game.” Additional details are available below.

How many of you are a fan of a sport team or a famous player? We all follow our favorite teams, favorite players. When we like a team, we try to make sure that we watch all the games. Read about what sports writers are saying about their style of play, their chance of winning. But there are some really committed fans, who would follow the teams all across the country.

There are a few things we can learn from sport fans on how we can be committed followers of Christ:

• to be faithful and not conform to the world
• to work tirelessly for Christ
• to be loyal to Christ
• to be passionate about Christ’s mission and never give up.

Based on Hebrews 12:1-3, 12-17, we will learn how we can become a fully committed follower of Christ.

Our Sunday School starts at 9:15 and worship at 10:30 a.m.

Hebrews 12:1-3, 12-17:

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  ² Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  ³ Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

¹² Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.  ¹³ “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.  ¹⁴ Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.  ¹⁵ See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.  ¹⁶ See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son.  ¹⁷ Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. He could bring about no change of mind, though he sought the blessing with tears.

The Board of Christian Educations is inviting everyone to join us in our Rally Day Celebration. Sunday School will start at 9:15, with a Rally Day Potluck Lunch immediately following our morning service. Everyone is asked to wear their favorite “Sport Themed” attire!

No matter how old you are, you can learn more about what it means to be on God’s team!

The Friends of the Library is showing the movie, Heaven is For Real—as part of Cinema Celebration on September 11, at 6:30 p.m.

This event is taking place at George H. & Ella M. Rodgers memorial Library, located at: 194 Derry Rd, Hudson, NH.
