New Hampshire Bible Society September 2014
IN THIS ISSUE NHBS Statement Bookstore Bible Reading Marathon!
Putting God’s Word into the hands, heads and hearts of the people of New Hampshire in a form and language they can understand.
Greetings!Come by the bookstore. The New Hampshire Bible Society offers a variety of Bibles; Study, Large print, Pew Bibles, in many different translations and languages to meet your needs. The Bibles are available at greatly reduced prices and often we are able to eliminate the cost altogether. We also offer to speak to your church about the work of the Society, its history and mission, either during worship or meetings during the week. The Society has been performing its work, partnering with the churches of NH since 1812, and we have no intention of slowing down now so we invite you to call or e-mail or stop by the office to see what we can do for your church and ministry. We are ready to be your partner, whether we help you find the translation or language you seek, or provide a Sunday mission moment for your church. As always, we keep you in our prayers as you continue to serve the Servant Christ.
Peace and Blessings,
Rev. David A. Richardson

“Fan or a Committed Follower?” — Worship at First Baptist of Hudson @ 10:30am
The First Baptist Church of Hudson is celebrating its Sunday School Rally Day on Sunday, September 14th, with the theme: “Get in the Game.” Additional details are available below.
How many of you are a fan of a sport team or a famous player? We all follow our favorite teams, favorite players. When we like a team, we try to make sure that we watch all the games. Read about what sports writers are saying about their style of play, their chance of winning. But there are some really committed fans, who would follow the teams all across the country.
There are a few things we can learn from sport fans on how we can be committed followers of Christ:
- to be faithful and not conform to the world
- to work tirelessly for Christ
- to be loyal to Christ
- to be passionate about Christ’s mission and never give up.
Based on Hebrews 12:1-3, 12-17, we will learn how we can become a fully committed follower of Christ.
Hope you will come and be part of this exciting time of celebration and learning.
Our Sunday School starts at 9:15 and worship at 10:30 a.m.
Hebrews 12:1-3, 12-17:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed. 14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. 16 See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. 17 Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. He could bring about no change of mind, though he sought the blessing with tears.
Surely God is my salvation
Isaiah 12:2 NIV
“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.””
