The Lord is…patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish

‭2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬ NIV
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless

‭Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭1-2‬ NIV

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed

‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ NIV
“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.””

For the word of the Lord is right and true

‭Psalm‬ ‭33‬:‭4-5‬ NIV
“For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.”

The things God has prepared for those who love him

‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ NIV
“However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him—”

So do not fear, for I am with you

‭Isaiah‬ ‭41‬:‭10‬ NIV
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

  • Children’s cereals
  • Juice boxes

Scripture Lesson for July 27th

Sermon: Called To Be The Salt of the Earth

Scripture: Mark 9:38-50

In this passage Jesus is challenging us: “Those of you who are My disciples should affect the world in a positive way by the way in which you live.” We will learn about how we are called to be moral antiseptics–in order to make a positive impact in our society and in the world.

Please come and join us at FBC Hudson on Sunday @ 10:00 a.m.

Mark 9:38-50

Mark 9:35-50  35 Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.”  36 He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,  37 “Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”  38 “Teacher,” said John, “we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop, because he was not one of us.”  39 “Do not stop him,” Jesus said. “No one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me,  40 for whoever is not against us is for us.  41 I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward.  42 “And if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around his neck.  43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.  44   45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell.  46   47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,  48 where “‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’  49 Everyone will be salted with fire.  50 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other.”
